Cogent HR: Bringing Payroll and Compliance Together

Cogent HR supplies skilled, blue-collar workforces to major supply chain operators, working across warehousing, distribution, and logistics sites. With a largely casual, site-based workforce and audit requirements drawn from major retail standards, the team needs to ensure that payroll is exact every pay run.

The challenge 

Cogent HR's workforce is entirely blue collar, working across multiple client sites, each with its own onboarding, compliance, and audit requirements.

Before foundU, payroll and rostering ran through one platform, alongside a range of separate client timekeeping systems. Every pay cycle meant printing timesheets and manually keying data into payroll, a slow process and one where errors could easily creep in. Payroll accuracy is core to Cogent HR's offering, so any new system had to compliment the team's strong reputation.

The solution 

foundU brought onboarding, rostering, time and attendance, and payroll into a single platform. Staff could onboard themselves, upload compliance documents, and have visa status checked automatically, with reminders triggered before certifications expire, giving Cogent HR visibility over credentials ahead of client audits.

Rosters fed straight through to time and attendance and payroll, with no manual re-entry. Payroll scenarios could also be tested before going live, preventing errors from reaching employee payslips.
